Pilates Suspension Method

What is the Pilates Suspension Method?

The Pilates Suspension Method (PSM) was created by Rebecca Beckler of Pilates949 (pilates949.com). It combines traditional and contemporary mat Pilates and equipment-based Pilates exercises and performs them on the suspension trainer. Each PSM exercise is Pilates-rooted and is also done in many of the traditional Pilates series. The PSM is designed to teach in a group or one-on-one setting. We currently offer weekly group sessions (4 people max) and private sessions. Our current certified instructors available to teach are Shelia Donovan (advanced PSM instructor and instructor trainer) and Caitlin Towle. Shelia Donovan Pilates Studio is a certified PSM training facility where Shelia is now teaching workshops for those interested in receiving certification as a teacher or deepening their practice. Upcoming workshops are listed below.

The exercises will be taught in traditional Pilates Series like the Footwork Series, Mid-Back Series, and the Feet in Straps Series. Each exercise is broken down in detail and modifications will be discussed and demonstrated. This course includes a paperback manual and e-book version of the manual. No Pilates experience is required to take this course. This course is also approved for 7 NPCP (formerly PMA) CECs.
