STOTT PILATES®

Private Training

STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates.
Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over two decades refining the acclaimed STOTT PILATES® method of exercise and line of equipment. The refined method resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and Rehabilitation – making it one of the safest and most effective methods available.

Mat classes are usually free with club membership. The average cost for private Pilates sessions is similar to personal training ($50 to $100 per session), although group reformer classes make equipment-based Pilates much more affordable.

Group reformer classes average around $20-30 a class, but can be lower. Many clubs offer a multiple-session package that greatly reduces the cost per class and attracts more members. In addition, group reformer sessions (4-10 participants) feel like semi-private classes. Participants get plenty of instructor attention—more bang for their buck than in other group classes.

And do your homework regarding your location. Learn what clubs in similar-sized markets charge (they are often willing to share this information to someone not competing in their local market), and what other facilities in your community offer. Then price your services competitively.

Absolute Beginner’s Pilates Mat and Reformer Series

A 6 week series for new Pilates clients. Working together in a small group of 4, you’ll be introduced to the beginner level Pilates mat and reformer exercises, with emphasis placed on learning proper Pilates breathing, developing “core” connection, strength, flexibility and proper alignment.. You will begin to understand how to access your Powerhouse muscles and work to maintain that engagement through movement. You will become familiar with your beginning safe ranges of motion and how to tell when you’re ready to increase the challenge by increasing your range of motion. The instructor will provide you with any modifications you may need for weakness, injury or discomfort.

[1 Month,  Limited to 4 students at a time]

Essential Mat

Introduces the five basic principles of Pilates to help enhance awareness of your breathing and postural alignment. You will learn the initial Essential Mat repertoire, which is taught in layer one. Modifications are given if needed to promote safety, success and to prevent injuries from occurring.

Intermediate Mat Class

If you have been practicing Essential Mat (at least 6 months and/or have a recommendation from the instructor) you are ready for the Intermediate Mat class.

The full intermediate Mat is taught in sequence. This class may include the use of small equipment to enhance understanding of mind/body awareness.
